Yeah the older, more experienced (and slightly slower) Smith. When Brandon heard about my unbelievable 3rd and 4th place finish… he immediately extrapolated that he would obviously have WON had he been there.

[quote]Sounds good. You have probably heard of this, but the overvoltage relay can blow that controls ABS, but it can be fixed. Mike’s ABS was not working (but no full wheel lockup) and the following fix worked.

This relay was one of the reasons my ABS wasn’t working. I tried to do the solder trick in the link, but it’s delicate work and my effort didn’t last. Instead of attempting to redo the soldering, I replaced the hard-to-find relay. Go to Turner Motorsports and do a search for part 34521154894. $27. ABS works now.

My cost on these relays is just over $25.-. If several of you are interested in having a spare I could bring them to Roebling next mth. No freight charges. Non profit deal for me if anyone is interested.

Light was always on in my car also, replaced this relay, and the light went out, and the ABS workded perfectly. Cheap fix if you ask me. I also lost my ABS at CMP as a result of going so fast trying to win the HPDE Championship that my wheel sensor wires rubbed on something and shorted, so you might want to check that as well.
Here’s my Sunday race video. Foushee and Al might enjoy seeing themselves.
For everybody else, not recommended viewing if you will be operating heavy machinery, as drowsiness is a common side effect after the first few laps.

Watching this video I am again reminded how well the different racegroups coexisted. The way you guys opened the doors for faster traffic is phenomenal. Thanks again for such clean racing.

First I would like to say that both of our series directors, Carter Hunt and Dave Derecola have made a tremendous effort in making things as they were last weekend. It wasn’t always like this. Less than sportsman like behavior from both groups have made coexistence difficult and made matters worse.
Just as we had to mature growing up and going through life ( at least we hope,ha)we have to do the same on the track. We all vary in age, experience and skill. The more experienced guys have to act like the older sibling and be tolerant but also help guide them into becoming mature and sensitive to others.
If I am faster than you there is no reason to make a stupid move to get by if there is a long straight right up the road. If I am slower than you then holding you up just to make things difficult is dangerous, especially if being passed is inevitable.
This is were the maturity and experience of the leaders in our groups come in. We need to learn from them so we can portray the image of being fast, professional, courteous and safe drivers.
As in any relationship, Communication is key.(for all of us that are married, easier said than done)

If you want one of these relays, send an email to Ferraridriver69(at)aol(dot)com
I suggest you replace the relay instead of doing the soldering trick just so you don’t fry your ABS computer. But if you just don’t care or are to cheap to buy one, here is a video and pics on fixing the ABS relay. http://peakracer.com/peak-racer-race-team/race-car-blog/fixing-the-abs-relay.html
I keep one of these as a spare.
