Another introduction thread

#1

Rennlist, a board for Porsche types has a tradition of a fairly involved introduction. Seems like a good tradition, so I’ll try it here. It has the advantage of allowing a person to wax poetic about how wonderful they are.

I will be meeting many of you at Roebling, so I figured I’d introduce myself before the event. I won’t actually have my SpecE30 until late Oct, but I figured that I’d attempt to hang out with y’all and start the learning process this weekend.

Ahh, that is if you’ll have me.

I’ll be at Roebling Fri-Sun in a maroon 911.

For those of you who saw the thread last month where I was car shopping, I did indeed find one. I’ll leave the details out so it’ll be a surprise. I’m sure the anticipation will have you laying awake at night .

I have ~40 track days. I’m ok at Roebling, and suck at CMP and Sebring. I have never raced. Wheel to wheel kinda intimidates me. I’ll do the SCCA racing license school at Roebling next Winter, but I won’t move to racing until I’m starting to feel reasonably competant in the E30.

Which could be a while.

I live in Savannah, GA. Am an engineer by training but work as a computer geek. Am retired military, a combination of Marines and Army. Am married to a strong willed lawyer-chick, and have 3 boys. The oldest of whom is 4.

I’ve been looking forward to joining y’all for months now.

Nice, another SE racer for next year.

Watch out for those Beertech guys, hoodlums all of them.

Welcome! Nice to have another Scott and Spec E30 driver join the club.

Come by say "Hello" and have a beer.

Don’t listen to JP. It’s those Malt Liquor Tech guys that you want to steer clear of. Bad News

Look forward to meeting you at Roebling.

Hate to spoil the surprise, but I’m guessing it’s an E30?!

The 911 is more fun to drive. The E30 is more fun to race. Stop by and say hello, Friday, Saturday or Sunday. A bunch of us will be there. Personally, I have 40+ track days and suck at Road Atlanta, Roebling and CMP. And many other tracks I have yet to suck driving at. But it’s waaaay fun!

Welcome, An if you are looking for me at Roebling I’ll be the one in the Gray car passing the checkered flag first.

Craig - which one is more fun to wreck? The 911 or E30?

Man, a tough crowd. Even the "intro" threads by some fresh, new blood turn into smacktalk.

Anyway Scott, don’t be put off by all the girltalk. Come on by and have a beer or gas-powered margarita Saturday night.
