And so it Begins, 2 new spec e30s

#32

We got the suspension put together today. We also got the clutch, pressure plate and transmission back in the car. The Rogue shifter from Bimmerworld looks like a nice piece.

very nice. If you don’t mind saying, did you buy that seat new or used, and how much did you spend on it?

It is a new seat, $1,200 ouch! More than I wanted to spend but IMO, this is definately one of those areas where you get what you pay for.

Well it is winding down. All thats left to do is get an alignment and lay on some vinyl and put in some roll cage padding. here are some pics.

Those are some clean cars!

you guys will not be disapointed in spec e30, I am looking forward to the report from RA, hopefully we can race with yall at Rockingham in Oct.

Thanks Al, The car will undoubtedly come down to the wire being completed on time. No time for paint, but I do believe it will be as mechanically perfect as the car can be. Here are a few of the latest pics.

Carter, I’m looking forward to meeting you. Damion, I’m looking forward to humbling you.

Cherry Bombs baby! :woohoo:

#47

Slap some numbers and NASA decals on that car and let’s go racing!

Maaco can wait…

Steve, are the ‘bombs’ enough to keep the sound under track limits do you think? I thought of doing something similar but was afraid the dB would be too high?

#49

I’ve got two Thrush glasspacks (2" each) and a gutted cat and the car is nowhere near too loud. It’s nice to be able to hear yourself on the track though! Now The Reverand’s straight pipes are another story…

I also use two glasspacks. its loud but I don’t think I’ll have any problem meeting regs. For sure not at Road Atlanta, we’ll see about roebling. i also have mine set up with bolt on tips so if necessary i can run to the local auto parts store and buy some turn down tips if I need to try and angle the sound away from the mics.

#51

It is pretty loud. I’m not sure if it will meet sound requirements or not to be perfectly honest. As long as you aren’t behind me, it shouldn’t be a problem…right?
