2011 Nationals - Who's Going?

#121

c’mon tower. i hear there is a rental option waiting on you… and why aren’t fish and ranger coming?

#122

I can’t get off work! Duty calls… I’m think my racing is over for a long while…

If anyone is going to nationals and needs a spare radiator, I have a nice one, never used. When I bought my 87, the guy was halfway through converting to the “new” style, whatever that is. I converted it back to the 87 style. I think this fits models from 89 and newer. At any rate, if you need a nice radiator that has never been used, e-mail me at smckay at mckay-law dot com - its just sitting here and I will never use it, so make a fair offer and I’ll throw it in the hauler.

to anyone who may need a ride we still have one seat left for rent. Hit me up!

I am planing on arriving at Nationals Tuesday evening. I am bringing a bunch of cones marked with Spec E30 that I typically set up to save space for our Great Lakes Region. Who is going to be there earlier and do the SE30 guys even want to paddock together? In our region we typically try to stay together. Anyway, I was going to put the cones out and stake ground. It will be in the upper grass area for sure. Drive-Gear, when are you arriving? Seems you may be the center of activity for this event.

Drive-gear.com[/quote]For you guys outside the Northeast/MidAtlantic, know that Andrew’s rentals are good cars. I’ve raced against them in NJ and at Road Atlanta. They are stout. Just look at Frans Hansen’s results. I believe he was in a DG rental all last year.

I call dibs if I screw my car up at Roebling this weekend though.:woohoo:

PS - Fuel testing announcement followed by several withdrawals. I knew Ranger was running $40/gal hot gas. :stuck_out_tongue:

#127

we wont be arriving until wednesday afternoon. Robert Grace should be arriving early and maybe coordinate with him for grabbing some real estate. if you guys could save us some space for our rig that would be great. we have a 50’ haulmark and dually.

Anyway figure out the best place to mount this fuel port yet?

#129

Simon, we mounted ours just to the right of the FPR on the return line. It ends up right next to the diagnostic plug in front of the engine. We tested it for a fuel sample and it flows just fine. I can post a pic tonight.

#130

That’s how I have mine setup as well.

Thanks I’m going to do that as well leaving the original hose in tact in case I need to move it.

#132

For us pansies that aren’t attending Nationals, it would be very cool if one/or more of you guys would post daily updates of the activities, Qualifying and Race results each day. Pictures and Video are always appreciated as well.

The Drive Gear trailer is always the “place to be” for hanging out with drivers, crew, and families at Mid Atlantic events. And we’ll have the Thursday cookout lunch there.

Do rope-off a large area for us if you can. The more level the better, of course.

Thanks Michael.

Have fun guys, looks like there is going to be some tough competition. Maybe next year for me. Good luck and be safe.

#138

Definitely. This will be a great group to race with.

Also, I haven’t looked at it very closely but the forecast is calling for a possibility of rain for Thursday to Saturday. I’m assuming it will come from what’s left of Tropical Storm Lee, that’s moving north though the middle of the country.

I’ll have room in the enclosed trailer so if anyone in Spec E30 has an open trailer and an SUV for example, know that you’re welcome in my trailer during the rain.

Getting ready to pull out for Mid-Ohio. Should be there around 5p and will look for any other SE30 racer and stake our claim. I am using some big nasty dirty cones and will try to paint SE30 on them if dry enough. Also, we will have plenty of food for anyone interested during the weekend. Except for Thursday at the Drive-Gear lunch plan to come by and eat with the Great Lakes crew. We plan to mix it up this time and have dogs on day, BBQ another, and what ever else we can find.
