2008 Nationals Reports

#41

I thought that there was a link for some kind of real-time streaming video from nationals. Anyone have that link or did I imagine it?

Go Skeen, Pantas, Lear and anyone else from SE & FL.

#42

I think that is just for the championship race on Sunday.

I feel like I’m ten in 1939 listening to some AM broadcast of the World Series.

Why isn’t Speed TV covering this!! Not that it would be much better.

Speed sucks. I set my recorder up for a race the other week and was looking forward to watching it. I had a pizza delivered, sat down to watch the Koni Challenge and there was a Freak’n World of Outlaws race  WTF?! I was so mad I threw my Speed TV swag away. I even my my GF get rid of her Speed tv thong

#45

For some reason when I try to listen to the live audio feed all I get is static and broken transmission. When I click on the link from NASA my computer goes to Yahoo Jukebox then the crappy connection. What can I do to hear it?

#46

I’m having the same problem with Winamp. What program do we need to listen to the broadcast?

#47

I can’t even find an audio link…anyone have one?

#48

Short race but fun race. I qualified on pole and got to ride behind the pace car which was pretty cool. Skeen got me on the start, I saw a flash of white, red & blue as he drove around the outside I tucked in behind and Skeen and I got a small gap on Cobetto. But we were into full on traffic very quickly, I was tucked behind Skeen going down the back straight and we both got held up in turn 7, Cobetto was right on my ass and tried to go around the outside of me at the bottom of madness, there was a miata there and he squeezed through the middle and we went 3 wide. We banged doors and went up the hill under the honda bridge where I gave up the corner as it was obvious he wasn’t going to give me room. No harm no foul. Then on the next lap I’m following Skeen and Cobetto and I go into turn 1 and the front just starts to skate on me and I don’t lift and go straight off the edge at turn 1, I get back on but Jonny Allen and Carter have gone past. I catch up to Carter and pass him going into the keyhole on the next lap. He doesn’t try to block me and we diced it up for a while. I then catch Allen on the last lap and thats how we finished. I’ll have the video up as soon as I get back in town. I don’t have video from the rain Q1 as they decided to grid us on time when they were running 30 mins behind and I had to run to the car to get it on the grid. I’ll make sure I have the camera on tomorrow :). Not sure of the grid yet but I think it will something like this

  1. Cobetto
  2. Skeen
  3. Davidson
  4. Carter
  5. Goldthwaite
  6. Lucas

I’m only sure about the first 2 spots, I’ve got a 13th and 4th so I’m guessing I’ll be around 8th or 9th? I’m doing my anti rain dance for tomorrow.

I’m looking forward to seeing some video… it sounds/looks like there has been some exciting on track action.

Hope you all have a fun, safe and clean championship race today.

I had the video for a few seconds, even saw afew E30’s could just make out Skeen and Carter but it looked like they were in the pits, likely the end of it all.

Anyway, had it up on Speecasttv.com but didn’t see anything meaningful. Maybe it just shows when there is an actual race in progress?
