'09 Tentative Schedule

#61

I think it would be killer to see a 40(+?) field at either VIR or RA. My problem (and vice versa for MA guys) is getting adequate seat time before a race at a new track (especially VIR or RA). Having never driven VIR, my assumption is that the typical NASA practice time of 15 min, coupled with the 10 min qualifying will not nearly be enough to get a feel for the track to be able to “compete” (and I use that term liberally since it will only be mediocre amounts of competition even in it’s finest hour).

Is there an enduro before? 10/10 is my favorite at VIR since AMP is a complete pipe dream.

10/10 at VIR would be cool with me… I definitely want to try some new tracks this year.

I share Geegar’s concerns about track time… does MA typically run a test/tune or Enduro on Friday?

#63

There have been a few test days on fridays with MA, but not consistently. ck out www.virclub.com and look at the schedule. They may have a school earlier in the week. I live a/b 30 min away from VIR and Skeen, Scott Mc, JP, and Al also live close, so crashing close by shold not be a problem if you want to come up early.

#64

I think the NASA-MA dates at VIR all have optional Fridays this year. You could even run open practice and test/tune to get 6 sessions.

#65

Yes. From what I understand all VIR dates will have Friday test/tune. Summit point dates are the ones that dont always have Fridays track days, and none of them are with NASA.

#66

Jim, I think we might have to take our own tent.
DTOM=lots of attitude.

Regards, Robert Patton

Lowes may be a good place to have a MA SE show down? Level playing field because few of us have run there… The bad thing is it’s a Friday-Saturday race with no test and tune… Just a thought

#68

I liked the idea of having 2 ‘showdowns’ one at a familiar SE track and one at an MA track. That way we get big fields for 2 races not just one. Besides I think most SE guys have driven VIR, and most MA guys have driven CMP (used to be on MA schedule).

#69

I’d vote for just one event so that attendance is as high as possible perhaps switching between the regions each year (MA & SE). I might be able to do one event out of region and I would prefer Road Atlanta as I went to VIR last year and already got my ass kicked by the MA guys.

Sound thinking… I like the floating from region to region idea. Maybe this is what the the IFU could evolve into?

Sure do wish there was a way to conduct a poll here ( Mike?)

#71

Simon, 10-4 on the fast MA guys. Let’s see what Pantas and Cobetto and others may have to say about the SE/MA challenge.

Can create a poll in NASAForums-SE, but apparently not in NASAForums-SpecE30. We can’t put the poll in the SE Regional forum because that place is home to, well, a very strange bunch.

SpecE30 new SE Regional logo

#75

surveymonkey.com is a quick and free way to conduct a poll.
