No no no. Don’t do it my way. Find a reasonably efficient and inexpensive way to do it.

Nope. I unloaded it into the garage after RA and there it sits. I think I am going to pickup a junkyard motor and drop it in and run that one until it dies…
I just don’t have the spare cash to do the swap right now.

With the economy what it is, our thoughts were to give the racers a break and not require them to attend every event next year to win their series. You can always race in GTS 1 or ST-2 on those weekends…
This is still bad. But if we have no alternative, then here’s some specifics.

150hp and 2775lbs is right at the max power to weight ratio. If you have more power you have to add weight. There is a dyno within last 12months requirement. How is that going to work for us?
I guess most everything is free, so the real GTS1 boys will have dual adjustable coil overs, low mass brakes, plexiglass windows and seam welded bodies.
Or everyone can work to convince Jim that his normal format is terrific and we’d all sure like to give him money to participate in a Lightning race at RA in Aug.
I like the idea of taking August off at Road Atlanta, at least for points. Lets keep June for Lightning!
Does this mean we can have two sprint races each day in June with no Thunder group running?
Brian Jones,
-(still sans cool suit)
Personally if we’re going to dump a race I’d rather it be something in CMP since doing it like 8 times a year is a little too much and RA is closer to my house, which is important to everyone I’m sure and should be a factor in any SE decision.

Double Lightning races would soften the blow of losing a race weekend.
WTG on “sans”. Literacy FTW.
From my handy dandy schedule I’ll be off from 7/18 (Lowes) until 11/7 at CMP. Almost a full “winter” season. That will leave lots of time for summer clean-up. The 10/17 AMP date will never happen.
Get your BMWCCA license up to date and we’ll all invade RA for the 10/3 Ofest event?
Regards, Robert Patton
PS, I’ve started some discussion on a MA versus SE challenge with us going to VIR on 3/28 and them visiting at RA on 6/13. What do you guys think? Should we go to VIR on 7/26 or 10/10?Does anyone like this idea?

I’m in for Oktoberfest at RA. Can’t do the VIR dates tho.

VIR is less than an hour from my house. It’s been 2 years since I’ve raced there, so I’d welcome a SE event there…

I would be interested in doing VIR on 10/10. I don’t think AMP will happen either.
Im out for 3/28, LeMons race is the next weekend.
7/26 is too close to LMS for me, I definitely want to run Lowes
I have no plans to get a CCA license so I will also be out for Ofest.

I love the idea of a showdown. My schedule is up in the air, but I think 10/10 might be a great VIR date. Probably a little early, but I still remember how beautiful the fall colors were at the November 13 hour race there a couple years back.
Dang. My sensitive side is showing. Do I have to wear monkey lingerie now?

I think you guys can share as long as Steve likes Christopher Cross too (the MUZAK version of course).
(gosh, I need to get to a track. Too much free time…)
I was thinking more of the camraderie tent (with flag) - proposed. I’m too old and soft to camp anywhere even with the magic tones of Christopher Cross singing me to sleep.
Yay! This could be fun.
Im hoping for the march VIR date but thats just cause im impatient .
Im trying to get to at least one SE race in '09, hopefully the IFU (at CMP I hope) and one RA. I think other MA guys would be up for returning the favor if a lot of SE guys came to VIR…
