09 is getting closer!

#1

So, I never participated much on the board, but figured it’s time to start. Unfortunately I couldn’t make the Rock school and the race, so now I have everything set for 2009.

I finally got my traqmate - pretty excited about it!
Got my coolsuit and video camera mount.
Waiting for my spec exhaust to get here - last thing to make the car compliant.

I hope to be racing with you guys all next year. I’ll be spending most of my time in SE, with occasional MA race at VIR (love that track!). I’ll be the guy in the back, probably mixing it up with Ranger (sorry, couldn’t resist).

I’ve read a bunch great advise on here over the past several months - thanks for that! And looking forward to 09!!!

Alex.

Alex,

You will be mixing it up with me also. I have plans to do Comp school early in '09.

I have a lot of work to get my car finished this winter, but I will get it done.

Looking forward to '09 being a great rookie season. I’m glad I will have another rookie to race with.

Greg

Add one more to the Rookie list :woohoo: All I have left is exhaust and fire suppression system then I’ll be ready for Comp school and cruising at the back of the pack B) . Any of you guys going to RA for the Dec HPDE?

I’ll be there running TT. My car is white #12 come say hi.

look for this truck:

'09 will be here before we know it. Can’t be soon enough if you ask me…

Can’t wait to meet you guys. If you half as much fun as I have the past couple of years, you’ll certainly think racing in Spec E30 is one of the best decisions you’ve ever made. (I know it sounds kind of pathetic… but I love this sh!t).

Welcome and look forward to having some cars between me and the back of the line

#6

Welcome new guys!

Let us know if we can do anything to help with your new adventure.

Cool ass truck, I wonder who belonged to it, looks like you could haul a lot of beer in there.

I’ll be there competing for the HPDE season championship. I’m leading by 7 points going into the last race.

You guys should start talking to each other about doing enduro’s together after comp school. They are a great way to smooth the transition from DE to W2W because they are a relatively low stress environment as W2W goes. They provide lots of good track time too.

Just don’t hurt the other guy’s car.

I thought you might have been one of the previous owners. When my car became track only, I had my Jeep for sale so I could get a tow vehicle. My dad found this truck on Racingjunk.com, so we went halfsies on it, and it tows both our cars to the track. All for <10k. The Roundels, and M stripes where already on the truck when we got it.

Sorry Al, we don’t drink anymore! but I could install a nice kegerator for you guys!!!

#11

I am another newbie here. I will be at ATL for the HPDE also. My car is well underway and I hope to have both my car and comp license ready early in the '09 season.

You guys should come park with us on the racer side. We have some of the most hilarious characters you will ever meet.

Awesome '09 seems like a growing year for the SE, I can’t wait to learn some race craft dicing with yall.

Catch me if you can!!!

would love to, but with that big a$$ truck, I would not want to take up all your space!!!

That is a cool ass truck. I’ve been looking for a towing solution for sometime, but it looks like I’m getting a truck and a trailer - too bad I missed that thing on racingjunk, I certainly spend enough time there.

I only have one item outstanding - Hans device. But, I’ll probably bite the bullet and get it from CDOC.

It certainly does seem like the list of drivers is growing. I was going to get my motor built by BRE over the winter, but now just considering running the car as is for the first year, then doing more to it.

We flew up to Maryland one way on a lark, not knowing the condition. Luckily it worked out, and we can take all our stuff and both cars in one vehicle!!

buy your hans from discovery parts, they are at the track for every event, and can install the anchors on your helmet for no charge.

My motor is stock with 130k miles, and won’t get a rebuild until it blows up. No reason to spend money you don’t have to.

Take it from me. This addiction will make those others pale in comparison.

I’ll see you guys at Road Atlanta in December. I’m sure after I take my turn on the 8 hour enduro (in an Integra) I will be completely screwed up driving a rear wheel drive car. If you see me driving backwards, you will know why.

I’ll second the ‘run the old motor’ advice. I ran my first couple seasons with a crate motor in SM rather than a ‘pro’ motor. After I was consistently catching up to guys coming our of the corners and losing them on the straights? THEN I stepped up and bought some more motor. I had to learn to be even smoother and more consistent than the next guy to keep up.

csrow - Good luck with the HPDE championship. That’s funny right there!

Oh for crissakes, just bring your big-ass truck over and come park with us. Spec E30 bonding is the highlight of the month, every month. It’s not something to be missed lightly.

Yes. All you have to do is beat the other TT guys that steal our space.

I’ll be there in December. Hopefully I can keep moving up the HPDE ladder and get to comp school by March/April.
