Winter Go Kart Tournament!

#21

I vote we still race karts on the 5th since a lot of us will be able to make it. Then schedule another day and try to get EVERYONE.

I think I can put a motor in! Don’t let me do your seals though because mine leaks from everywhere haha. What do I need to get to stop the leak from the oil filter adapter thing. It leaks out the bottom of the cylindrical part.

#22

Is the leak between the block and the filter mount? There should be a large round o-ring between the two.

When were you thinking about the 2nd go-karting event? I was under the impression that it would be in the middle of winter when we are craving for the racing season to start.

#23

It leaks out of the bottom of the filter mount. I replace the o ring when I rebuilt the motor. It doesn’t leak there.

As far as the 2nd karting event, mid winter sounds good to me. I’m craving racing already, it’s a bad addiction.

#24

My LeMons team at Toyota is talking about doing karting. Should I invite them so we can lay the smack down??

#25

Current attendance list:
Cameron Bullard
Denny Barker
Anthony Magagnoli
John Ackerman
Kevin Sweeney

Are there more? Do we want to do an enduro, or just several heads-up races?

#26

Bring whoever for sure. I’m sure a few of my friends will want to come. They get kind of busy on Saturdays. The earlier we show up the more likely they’ll let us do real races rather than just running for lap time.

#27

Anthony - What about Tim, Negus’s, and Necef? BMW versus NASA?

I can also see if a few other NASA guys in the area are interested.

#28

I won’t be able to make it on the 5th. I vote to do it again in Jan/Feb when we are all craving a racing fix.

#29

I’m still in. What’s the current roster?

#30

now it depends on what time on the 5th, got something going on that evening. If it’s early afternoon, I’m in.

#31

I think the earlier the better. Last time we were there on a Saturday night it got really busy.

#32

So I guess its no secret that one of our long-haired friends/competitors has been out practicing…

I just talked to one of the owners of the track who’s a friend of mine. I requested to use their conference room and projector to watch the movie SENNA after we race. I got it burned on dvd… Who would be interested in sticking around for that?
I’d offer my house, but I’m 40 min away…

FYI: 5 lap practice, 10 lap qual, 25 lap race is $50. Bumping to a 40 lap race takes the price to $65.

#33

Haha I cut my hair. It’s not anyway near as long as it was. Watching Senna would be awesome, I’m definitely in for that.

#34

That explains why Dave was confused when I was describing you as the long haired kid. Lol.

#35

hahah yeah Dave’s a cool guy. He helped me get down to 28.7s. Those karts are the fastest indoor karts I’ve driven. I get seriously tired doing the long 12 minute sessions.

#36

so do we have a time in mind? when do they open on saturdays?

#37

They open at 11am. I can show up whenever. What’s everyone thinking?

#38

Noon? I am trying to arrange something with our LeMons team to get more folks there, too.

#39

Noon sounds good to me.

#40

I am confirming Noon on Saturday. We will mix in with our LeMons drivers. We have 18-19 including us SE30 guys. We can run the fastest 8 or 9 qualifiers in one group and the rest in the second group.

Please respond or text me to confirm your attendance!
