Window Net install

#1

Just wondering how others have installed their window nets? The top bar with the seatbelt latch is obvious enough, but I wonder how best to attach the lower bar to my X brace? Welding tabs onto the door bars seems like it would just create snag points when exiting the car.

Thanks.

I’ve seen chains attached to the net’s bottom bar and that allows you to put the lower tabs anywhere on the door bars.

I’ve got a few interior pics of how I mounted my window net under the galleries (#105 blue spec e30)

A lot of guys have the standard steel bar running through the bottom of the net (just to keep the net straight), but also run a plastic-coated steel cable through it and then attach it to some point on the cage that is out of the way.

I used stainless steel cable. Put a loop in one end and "lassoed" the
cage.

You can make some up cheap at west marine. THey have all the tools and can show you how to do it.

They are also a great source for high quality wiring components.

Stainless steel cable (got the cable and crimp things at Lowes) and hose clamps…

Simple and cheap.

Yeah, the guys at the local hardware store have stopped asking me what I use stuff for when I buy these weird combinations of hardware.
