Why 2 different brake prop valves?

#1

Look at this link. There are two different brake prop valves. I have the bottom one that references “pressure regulator with 4 lines”. I can’t find this kind of prop valve on RealOEM. What model cars had it? How does it function differently then the prop valve pictured at top.

Fred needs some plumbing associated with the 4 line prop valve. I have the same kind.

I found the part # and that got me to a RealOEM page. It’s still darn strange tho. The RealOEM page doesn’t show the device in the diagram, but does list it. I’m thinking that maybe there are numerous master cylinders for this car and the prop valve goes with one of those designs. The wording also implies that this prop valve has some uniqueism associated with ABS.

Part number is 34341156716. Look 6 lines down in the parts table for a “brake pressure regulator”.

I’ve now looked about about 10 E30s and they’ve all had the 2-line (vert) version. Current alternate plan is to have somebody who owns the right flaring tool to fab a new line.
