Who's instructing HPDE at VIR in March?

#1

…and may I request you as an instructor? I would like to have an instructor that is familiar with SpecE30 instruct me in HPDE2. My ultimate goal is to eventually come race in the SpecE30 series.

I realize that HPDE is not a competition, and that overly agressive driving is not tolerated. I try hard not to be “that guy”, but at the same time think that I would benefit from being instructed by someone who has the experience driving an E30.

My car is a '91 318is, and is on it’s way to becoming SpecE30 preppared (sans the m20 & large case 3.73 diff). I’ve driven VIR FULL on two occasions and know the track well, but need guidance on how to carry more speed through the turns, and not downshift as much. My goals for this coming event are to practice systems management (tires, brakes, drivetrain), and driving off-line.

Any takers?

My brother Tom built both our Spec E30 cars and has been racing with NASA-SE the last year or so. He just finished getting some first class, one-on-one coaching at CMP last month and he is a good instructor (I should know, he’s done most of mine).

Because I am doing Comp school and he handles both our cars, he will be instructing at VIR that weekend.

Now, to disclose 100%. We have both only done VIR one weekend with Chin Motorsports but he instructed for that too!

He’d be good!

Jeff,

Thanks for the response! It would be great if he wouldn’t mind instructing me. I’ll request him & I guess we’ll see if it happens! See ya’all at VIR!:stuck_out_tongue:
