I have one, well actually two spare’s and two in cars. Wanna come get the one that is currently not in a car? It works and was in the 96 car before I swapped in an engine and lower mileage transmission.

#4

Yeah, I got a couple of those also, but I need the shifting kind.

#5

Ok. Found one out of an 89 is car with 87k on the clock for $275, is that good?

#6

Al,

The guy is on vacation until the 24th, I’ll ask when he gets back.

#9

Alex,

I know of a new (rebuilt) with new synchros, everything for 1K. Not a bad deal if you don’t want to screw with putting in unknowns or paying someone to do the work for ya…

#10

def worth springing for the rebuild if you are paying for install…

Guys, thanks for all the offers. I went ahead and ordered the used one. It should be here in the next day or two.

I’m actually going to try and do this myself. Will probably solicit some help from a friend or two. From looking around under the car it’s not too complicated, just probably time consuming.

I replaced mine a couple months back by myself in the driveway with the car on jackstands using a couple floor jacks. The top 2 bolts and the starter bolts are a pain in the ass, but everything else is easy. I used lots of extensions, a swivel joint, and a breaker bar to get the hard to reach bolts. If you have any questions let me know.

if you have the exhast, driveshaft, shift linkage off, take the trans mount off and loosen the engine mounts you can get to those bolts fairly easy, wobble extensions work pretty good
