I need to know who’s racing Spec e30 that weekend so we can get a place all together and I can tech (I’ll try my best) all participants. Maybe rent a garage or something.
Let me know asap!!
Who's going to Cali Speedway in March?
Hi Victor, I’m coming. Just waiting on a response to my email about why there is not a Spec E30 registration on the SoCal web site. Any tips?
AJ
I am going, but as an HPDE driver. This is my first NASA event, so i guess I have to start in HPDE 1. Still dont know if i am bringing my 95 M3 DD, or my Soon to be Spec E30. I have it gutted, hopefully have the suspension in by then, but as of right now, I only have one seat. I am making a harness bar for it for until i get my cage in. But need to buy/mount another seat aswell for the instructor so i might just take the daily driver. Where in SoCal (close to LAX) would you guys recommend getting a car tech’d? Thanks. E>
I’ll be there in HPDE 3 (white E30, #511).
Esphoto, here are your tech inspection stations: http://www.nasaproracing.com/events/hpdetechstations.htm
Also, I’m not sure if the typical bolt-in harness bar will pass tech inspection here. You might be better off getting a used bolt-in roll bar (w/ harness bar) and running your shoulder belts off of that. That will definately pass inspection.
This is me driving a Mustang from last March:

Should be fun!
Thanks. I think I might be driving my m3 instead of the E30. I am gutting it and gonna work on getting the sunroof done then get it to the cage guy. Sooo, I dont know if its gonna be done in time. Either way, I will be there. See ya there. E>

I just checked the event registration website, and you click racing and you’ll see the Spec E30 class.

I might go. I’ll have to clear it with the boss but I have always wanted to drive California Speedway. It looks like a bad ass track!
Thanks Victor, I heard from Evyan Ruiz at Nasa SoCal a couple of days ago that he was looking into it. Thanks for the heads up - I just registered, see you there.
You guys have a fav spot where to park, we should all try to get closer in case we need to help each other, it worked out very well when I parked next to other E30’s at Willow springs and thanx to my fellow racers I was able to race on Sunday.
So, it’s just AJ and I chasing the cup for now? anybody else getting ready for future races?

I will come down and join you at Buttonwillow at some point this year…Hope we can get a few of the Norcal guys to come down with me, so we can actually have a good sized field…
Hey if anyone is staying the night friday night, I have a room at the best western. If someone wants to kick down 40 bucks, they are welcome to the other bed. I paid 92.50 for the room. Lemme know. espphotography@gmail.com or Erick 310-463-9067
Victor - it was good to meet you and drive on the track with you, I hope you get your car fixed soon.
Erick - it also was good to meet you, and I hope your SpecE30 build comes along well.
It would be really good to come down again and drive with y’all at Cal Speedway or another SoCal region track. I had a blast the last couple of days. We don’t have turns like 1-2 in our region like that track does!
Yeah Carl, great meeting you. I am going to try to get the sunroof out next week, then off to the cage builder. I am STILL waiting for my IE sways/camber plates, go figure, its been 3 weeks! UGH. Frustrating is an understatement. See you guys soon. e>
That is one fun track:

It was great meeting you guys, unfortunately I couldn’t keep playing with you guys after my mishap on Friday, and I was kind of sore Saturday. Those solied barriers should be changed to a friendlier softer barrier at turn 18 before the main straight.
