Time for a spec e30 side bet???
Al
Scuderia Gonzo Alonzo
I bet you car (If you can call a chopped Alfa riveted and duct taped together a car)will not make it 50 laps, Canterbury’s car (The Roach) gets lots-o-BSF points, the B(eerTech)-Team car gets crushed, and the 40oz malt liquor/rat mobile cruises on and on and on. Too bad Salad Bar won’t be there to get crushed again. They were shoe-ins. Break dance contest Saturday night. See you b!tches at the track!!!
BeerTech will be there to represent and hand out beat downs. I cant wait to claim our prize even if it is in nickles.
Were gonna beat MLT like Ike beat Tina. BAM!
Al’s car - since it is Italian, well catch on fire.
Beertech will wreck their’s with hyper aggressive driving.
MLT will fall pray to the people’s curse for cheaters replacing team Salad Bar.
My predictions. If I wasn’t heading up to VA. at the end of the week, I’d come see you guys, looks like might rain too. Had enough of that.
Will help keep Al’s car fire contained though.
Updates???
Live streaming video is not too good on my wireless connection, but you ‘big pipe’ guys might get some use of it…

update
After 400 or so laps it looks like the MLT/SGA showdown comes down to 2 or 3 laps.
Beertech finshed in the bottom 5 out of 94 cars!
Pantas also finished down there
Canterbury got 120 penalty laps and finished way down
The Alfa Trophy’d!!! bitches
Not sure who came out ahead, it was that close…
I feared that the 2.7 with 25i head/motronic might not get past the judges…Was that what caused the penalty laps?
To all teams that ran; what did you guys use for springs/shocks/sways.
@ Al – a 325e won overall (Team Dorifto?) followed by an mk2 Jetta that finished 40 seconds later, though was gaining 5 seconds a lap for the last hour or so (According to Jalopnik).
Someone ratted us out to the judges on Friday night. We were only given 6 BSF points after the first inspection. The judges came over on Friday morning and let us know that someone had told them we were running an M5 diff. That’s nonsense, but since we did swap in a diff that they deemed to be worth $800 dollars we were given an additional 80 laps netting us 86 total.
We were on pace to make that up in the first day as the car was FAST. However, we rolled the dice on the stock fuel pump/tank and were taken out of the race eventually by burning up fuel pumps from the trash in the tank.
That wasn’t before Team Thunderturd Tboned us under yellow in the passenger door and then two laps later rear ended us directly in the exhaust (ha!) so hard that it bent the down pipes arount the front sway bar. We hobbled on with some open header laps but the gas tank was the ultimate demise.

results for folks with Spec e30 connections…

30th Malt Liquor Tech, 493 Laps Travis Wilson, Scott MC, Sasha Berghausen
33rd Scuderia Gonzo Alonzo 487 Laps Alonzo Taylor
71st Team Cockroach 256 Laps Steven Canterbury
88th Pink Panther II 88 Laps Jim Pantas
90th Beertech racing 9 Laps JP Coates, Brian Jones
Did I leave anyone out?
We won the “Most Likely To End Up In A Pond Full Of Snakes” Trophy, for having the most dangerous vehicle. All the teams had various screw ups that hurt their finishing position. Someone on my team did not understand that pitting under full course yellow was a good strategy…MLT cannot crow too loud about finishing 5 laps ahead of me…ask Travis about it sometime, always start with the simple solutions.
Oh yea, Beertech should think about checking their fuel filter before an enduro…

I think Anthony Magagnoli was doing this race. He is new to Spec E30. He might have been driving a Toyota but I’m not sure.

Who was in the E30 that did catch fire? I was watching the live feed coverage and the commentary said the driver was out and OK, but I wondered if it was any of our crowd.

Steve D.[/quote]I had never met them prior to this weekend. The fire was pretty spectacular… I was walking out of the bathroom (next to pre-grid) right as it burst into flames.

You mean the bathroom burst into flames? You must have eaten at Gus’ in Kershaw. Glad you got out safely.

The Kudzu Kommandos. They were there last year and were running very quick this year.
They had a huge Harrison Motorsports sticker on the hood.

Yo Jones
Congrats on the smackdown of something like 4 teams out of 96…The mist T costume was great, where are the photos??
Oh, for those not there, Teddy M3 made an appearance, it was epic Saturday night…
Al
I hope to have the write up complete with pics done tonight.
Those 4 teams got a proper BeerTech beat down. If Al didn’t sabotage our fuel system Friday night we would have smashed that Alfa too.
Jones wrote:
You should have just lit it on fire. No one would have questioned it spontaneously combusting… It’s an Alfa.

Loved the cheap shot with the motor comment. Jones, can you skate? If not, you know what to blame.
