Who is going to cheer on the Skeen??

#1

I got a deal on a dozen “Skeen Wigs” tm, and we can set up a “Skeenville” along the turn 4 fence…who is in?

Skeen, do you need me to bring some possum’s? Don’t worry the Long’s are used to me, I think.

Sounds like the birth of Skeen’s Army…

Which he’ll soon have to distance himself from.

#3

Distance “to” or “from”??

I got the new toilet mobile running, complete with baby ruth despenser, we can call it the “Skeen Machine”.

Skeen, if you want to pay me to stay away from the track, it would be no problem.

I’m leaving now to go down and watch.
Skeen’s car qualified 8th (ahead of the car driven by jim daniels and tom long)!
It should be a good race tomarrow, too.

Did all you guys cheer so hard and clap so much that you lost your voice and your hands are swollen and untypeable?

Lets hear what happened. The results look like the car made an early exit, but details details details.

Had a pole lap going in quali but got held up by Randy Pobst on a cool down lap. Turned a 2:10.7, which was good enough for 8th. Pick up several spots on the start, but kept getting passed down the back stretch. After 20 mins or so, things settled out and I started moving back up. Ran 6th for a long time with fastest lap at that point before the first caution. After that, we had a wiring harness issue on the throttle body that required service in the paddock. Lost about 18 laps IIRC. It happened again about an hour later, but fixed it and it almost lasted most of the race. With just a little time left, we had to retire because the transmission was dragging the ground because the chassis brace broke. Tough luck, but a great experience.

PS…video coming.

Looking foward to it.
I could have sworn you were in the car towards the end of the race. It looked like your helmet anyway…

Sunday was cool too. Bill auberlen is in another league- visibly faster and smoother than anyone else out there. I met some drivers/owners and I watched a lot of the race next to oz. negri who was coaching someone during the race. Pretty cool to hear!

Its always fun spectating at VIR- although RA looked like a fun race too.
Nice job skeen! I hope your bad luck continues next weekend
