Where are the early E30's?

Why is it that the earliest SpecE30’s that I see participating at the '87’s. The E30’s started in what, '82?

Our M20 (i motors) didn’t come out until 87’. I believe that Travis’s car is earlier than 87’ as it was a motor swapped eta.

You will see some 86’s as well, with i motors swapped in, but that’s generally as far back as people choose to go. The 84/85 models didn’t have ABS and the wiring harnesses are different so they tend to be much more trouble than they are worth.

Luckily, it is a Wisconsin car, so probably rust free.

I’d like to take it down the straight away at Road Atlanta, the only problem is 10A and the chute getting in the way.
