Yea. I’d be super interested to hear what your dyno said…
Where are all the $7-9k cars for sale?
Actually, the pertinent questions are “How big was the field that year?” and “How many people crashed on the start?”
Still counts as a podium, though.
Do any of you object to me quoting what you’ve said when comparing Spec Miata and Spec E30?
I plan to write an article about how Spec Miata differs from Spec E30 for my blog, MarquetteMotors.com
Fair game as far as I’m concerned.
Here is an older thread on the topic in case it helps:Old SM vs E30 thread

Super! That’d be a huge help, thanks!
When you post the manifesto on SM v. E30, make special note of those with an opinion, vs those with an opinion that have raced both. I’ve raced both. Steve D has too, as have a few others. The world’s general opinion of SM racers isn’t great, but I’ve found them to be a pretty good group overall. Fun. Helpful. Will loan you parts and advice and everything else, just like the E30 gang. SCCA is more competitive than NASA to be sure, but I’ve found good people at both. I believe the SM gang is a little more reckless at the wheel, as a whole, than the SE30 gang, but otherwise, they are both pretty similar. Operating costs are pretty close.
PS Steve D’s writeup from 4 years ago is just as accurate today as it was back then.
Any other cars out there? This is the only one I’ve been able to find. The passenger bar on that car doesn’t look great. Also, it’s in Batimore. Which is not close.
Hello all. This is my car for sale:) Michael, I see what you’re saying about the bar. I assure you that slight bend in the bar is intentional. Piper Motorsports put the cage in. I believe its there to help with getting in and out of the passenger door for instructors. They are a very reputable shop in northern VA. I’m hoping someone on the forum will jump in and vouch for how reputable they are. Also, any of you guys that have seen my car can jump in and give honest opinions (no hard feelings;).
The car is in great shape except for some minor sheet metal bumps on drivers side. I kept everything that way so interested parties could see the original damage and know that it wasn’t bad. I can surely find a replacement fender and have a body shop fill the rear in and paint for cheap.
Jason
What is the concern with the passenger side bar? Looks like a normal X style bar right? With foot protection which is good. Piper is a top notch builder, the only complaint I’ve ever heard about them is their price!
I know this car from the MidAtlantic, for what its worth I’ve always thought it was well prepped/maintained car…and the owner, Jason, is a good guy…very knowledgeable.
I agree w/ RG. I don’t see a problem with the passenger bar. I wish my car had a Piper cage because their stuff is really nice. I’d jump on that car for that money if I was looking for one.

Alright, I see. No disrespect!
In any case, I need to sell my car before I can proceed.
this car is in my region and I can say it is a grea build and I wouldnt hesitatate to pull the trigger on this car. Piper’s reputation for quality cage work is tops in the industry. He mainly does pro cars.
My car is for sale
For Sale Spec E30 Race Car $11,900
This car is competitive at the National Level. Just finished 4th at the 2012 Nationals (3rd fastest lap), finished 2nd in 2008. If you want to get in a top level spec car for cheap this is it.
Have multiple dyno sheets all around the 152-156 hp mark. Similar torque numbers all around 150. Motor is the original motor (145,000 miles + 4 race seasons) and it still runs very strong and hasn’t dipped in performance in all the years I’ve run it. Was dyno’d at its last event at Nationals.
Lap times
1:41.699 – Autobahn (2nd fastest)
1:41.247 – Gingerman (Lap Record)
1:42.774 – Mid Ohio Pro (3rd fastest)
1:45.886 – Mid Ohio club (Lap Record)
1:22.984 – Putnam Park (Lap Record)
Body – it is not perfect. There is damage on the driver’s door side. Cracks in the bumpers. Hole in the left rear wheel well. Was freshly painted when built ($1800) with Ford Grey Metallic but it has been raced for 5 years.
Car has been hit on each front corner in separate incidents. Alignment is perfect and getting to the max -3.5 camber is no problem.

Just FYI, this thread was created with me in mind and I recently picked up a car.
No need for one anymore.
If you have a car to sell, put it on the classifieds.
