Wheel Weight - Spec Legal?

Wheel Choice for e30s is a little slim. There is a new wheel coming out for the e30 in Sept. It is fairly cheap ($99) and looks good. (not sure of the back spacing yet)

The problem is the Manufacturer lists the production weight at 12.9 lbs. In reality the wheel will be 13 lbs or a little over.

So how does Nasa/spece30 decide if your wheel is of legal weight? By actually weighing the wheel without the tire? or by what the Manufacturer states the wheel weighs?

You do know about the Konig wheel program for $75/wheel? Fantastic product and a great price.

Thank you, Yes I do. my cost on these new wheels are a good bit less than the 99 retail price and I like the looks of this wheel better than the Konig rewinds

I would think of it like this. Say someone goes and buys a 9lb wheel and then stamps 13.0lbs on it.

Is the wheel legal because it says it weights 13.0lbs? No.
