Wheel studs

There seems to be quite a variety of wheel studs available (material, length, etc). What are most people using (length and material)?

75 mm bulletnose wheel studs - bimmerworld.

Also the 75mm Bulletnose from Bimmerworld. (Same design as RRT, only cheaper.)

Replace annually.

im running the RRT ones.

maybe cheaper by .25$ at bimmerworld but whatever.

Regardless of your source, always hand-thread them a couple of full turns before you put the gun on the nut. I’ve had a few get cross threaded and noticed it, which saved the stud/nut.

Dan, you saved us at VIR. I got to return the favor at Mid-Ohio by handing out a few spare studs as well. It is also a good idea to run a thread cleaner through the hub. You can "borrow" from AutoZone - they have a kit that includes a M12 x 1.5.

Yes. We always have at least four studs and nuts at the track with us.

It’s also wise to check the torque regularly.

So, 4 studs - Which of you at nationals were the studs? 4 nuts - I can guess who a few of these were. This seems to bet the standard at every race.

Hey

maybe he meant four studs with nuts…most of my friends no longer have their nuts…they are hanging on the wall at home.
