VIR Feb 15-17th MA crushes SE again

its hard to say because I dont know what pieces you are using. its not a job you wanna do twice especially at the track. we can swap the whole thing out and see where it lands…

#16

Cool, I’ll PM you so as not to further derail this thread. Sorry for that.

#17

This is awesome!

#18

OK, I think I might be good-to-go without all the paddock heroics. Left the car in capable professional hands today.

I have a coplete assembly here in Norfolk, you could get this weekend. Only 2 or3 hours from here to Raliegh. Hell you could bring it up and put it on the lift and have it changed in an hour or two.

Thanks for the offer, Rick. The shop that did the original welding is helping me sort it out. Good guys. I think I will be all set. If the shoo-diddly-diddly hits the fan, though, it’s nice to have options. Thanks!

Supposed to get down to 26*, what’s the thought on using glycol or not? HATE to even think about it, but don’t want the engine to freeze, either.

#23

it is allowed for this event only

#24

or keep a shop light plugged in under the hood all night…or you can shovel some hot coals onto a metal trash can lid and slide it under the oil pan…heating pad under the hood…12v truckers heater aimed at the oil pan.

YMMV, dont burn your car down but also dont dump anti freeze on the track…

Regrettably I have to bail for the weekend after all. Car would likely be ready in time, but just got some work assignments due next week that will have me working over the weekend to complete. Good luck and have fun!

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone. Had a blast it was great meeting everyone. See ya in March.

Good weekend, mostly due to the hospitality of the cofer’s and Drivegear…did not really turn a lap until the last race Sunday because I slept in both days…did my fastest lap on the last lap…will take a 2.22.0 with my old tires and e motor, hope to have a spec e30 for the next event…

Thanks! My ‘hover’ was way too quick to see that it was a link

Great seeing everyone again. The Cofer’s were life savers…literally. Not only did they let us hang out in the warm RV, but the fed us too! Thank you both. Also a big thanks to DriveGear and Rick Mariani for the firewood and a warm trailer to sleep in.

Saturday conditions were pretty tricky in the snow/rain. Luckily none of our guys bent any metal.

Sunday was dry but wicked cold and very windy. I had a good battle with Harper for a few laps but was eventually able to pull enough of a lead that he couldn’t draft up on me on the back straight.

Here is my video from Saturday’s snow race, Sunday will be up shortly.
