VIR Enduro class

#1

I am hoping that everyone will still be running Spec E30 rules (weight and tires) for the enduro rather than the enduro class E2 configuration which allows for bigger tires and potentially less total weight for drivers that weigh less. It will make the enduro more fun for us as a group, even if it means that we are not as competitive as possible in the E2 class. (My guess is that even w/ the Spec E30 config many of us will be competitive overall anyway)

Not changing anything. I hope no one else does. If you do you are not cool.

Dave,
The seperation between Spec E30 and E2 rules is still very unclear to me. The E2 rules say we run "Spec E30 rules", but then make changes to what our weight limits, which make no sense to me. During the race, we all probably dip below 2750, which, by the letter of Spec E30 law should disqualify us all. Last year, my car made Spec E30 weight at the end of the race, but was disqualified because of the E2 rules, which weighs cars WITHOUT driver (James weighs 200+ pounds)…what are we going to do this year?!

Carter, we could use some clarification here!

Yikes.

I only weigh 120lbs so this should be interesting. Hopefully this will be cleared up before we qualify.

Holy smokes Mike!!! I’m buying you 1 … no scratch that, 2 steaks for dinner in Danville, with a side of mashed potatoes, some fries, a bowl of chicken wings, 4 protein shakes, and one whole pecan pie - with ice cream on top. Let’s get some meat on those bones!!

Technically speaking, this is an enduro and not a Spec E30 race. Therefore, the enduro weights apply.

According to the NASA folks, our cars will be weighed without the driver. Minimum weight is 2750 minus 180 pounds - or 2570.

Carlton and I will be running within the Spec E30 configuration and I hope the other Spec E30 drivers will too.

9th place in class. I should have stuck with the keep it on the track strategy instead of "OMG i’m in first place!" and then "OMG there goes everyone and i’m stuck in the grass at hog pen" I had alot of fun though!
