VIR 3/09 information thread

#1

We are two weeks out and there’s already a decent showing:

Robert Allen
Carlton Goldthwaite
Robert Grace
David Herrington
Carter Hunt
Raymond Jadczak
Christian McIntyre

If you count some other regulars who have committed but not signed up, we should have another good turnout. I predict at least 15…

Robert,

Did you get my email about the items you had for sale?

Jason
Robert, can you change the weather forecast?
I dont have to. Its always changing on its own. Right now its around 30-40% (thats weather talk for “we have no idea” )

Skip is noticably absent for the first time in over a season, although there’s still more time to register (that goes for the rest of you too).

Doesn’t look like I will be on the grid this time. Seems I’ve lost my sponsorship (maybe it was that joke, a slip of the toung…I really do like short people, judges and insurance adjusters). I will be down, probably Sunday, spectating…I understand the E30 race is very exciting can’t wait to see it…boohoo…:frowning:

good luck to everyone

Sorry to hear that joe. But on the bright side, I can remember watching the SE30 races at VIR when I was in DE. I really miss seeing the fast guys do their thing from the stands. Its the next best thing to driving…

When my car started missing during Sunday’s race (loose fuel pump connector) at the last VIR weekend, I hurried to the infield to watch your guys finish the race. While the long full-course yellow was a disappointment, it was a lot of fun watching you guys race!

Also, let’s plan to paddock near the garage area. A few of us have garages and the Spec E30/ChemStation/Broadreach Racing Team trailer will be in this area. We’ll have the trailer open to all Spec E30 drivers who want to get out of the rain. We’ll also have a cooler with drinks and water.

My plan is to have about six large orange cones outlining an area with yellow police tape. We’ll reserve as many paddock spots as possible.

It looks like the schedule will allow a Spec E30 Cookout for lunch on Saturday. I’ll buy the burgers, chips, and buns and come by at about noon to join us for lunch. The grill (Jon Allen - head cook) will probably be just outside one of the garages. Qualifying ends at about 11:00 and the race starts at 2:40 so a noon lunch will be perfect.

If you’re planning to eat, just show up (a small donation to the Food Fund will be appreciated) with your own beverage. The Spec E30 drinks need to last through the weekend.

'Looking forward to seeing everyone at the track again!
