Uh oh, I've got to hit the books again

Rec’d an email from Cisco yesterday re. the impending expiration of my Cisco Voice certification. Now that’s a bummer. I’ll be hitting the books for a while. A couple hrs/night in the books is going to play havoc with screwing around with my car.

Certifications aren’t so much about “fixing” as they’re about “interviewing”. If your employer gets bought out, you retire. If my employer gets bought out, I’m unemployed. I’m not ready to be a stay-at-home trophy husband.

Hmm. Stay-at-home trophy husband. Does have a certain ring to it.

Ranger, if your certification expires you can always move to silicon valley. Acquired certifications is a signal to filter a candidate out where I’ve worked :slight_smile:
