Ed[/quote] Yep…that should get you to 40 hot…

On my JS car I see higher than 10 psi growth on Hoosiers. More like 15 psi, but I agree I would never start the toyos at 18! I run Hoosiers at 47 psi hot right off track around 43 psi if measured in the paddock. On the toyos I’ll probably do 41 hot off track and something like 37 - 38 if measuring in the paddock. I’ll probably start them around 27.
Great info for a rookie, at least in this series.
How about alignment specs for starters?
I have in my Z3:
Front: -2.5 camber, max caster, 1/16 toe-in.
Rear: -2 camber, slight toe-in.
Would that work for my E30 as well?
I would run the max camber you can in front. Zero toe in the rear and 1/16 toe out in front.

Yeah, what he said. Toe-in give you straight-line stability for highway driving. For the track, a tiny bit of toe-out up front gives you better turn-in response. Zero toe in the rear to eliminate drag but you can crack in a tiny bit of toe-in if the car is too tail happy for you.

Max camber including the camber plate, or zero at the plate and max out camber then?
Toe-out in front? Interesting, I’ll try it.
I’ll go 1/16 toe-in in the rear until I get used to the car.
Thanx guys.

That’s my front toe and oddly enough the tracking on the freeway is still rock steady. I have about 3000 highway miles on the spec suspension with maxed camber and BFG tire wear has been nonexistant. (I do have a bit of rear toe in.)
I run mine to the cords too. I keep extra sets of bottlecap wheels and after 3 races I move the race tire off the race wheels and remount them onto the bottlecap wheels to serve as practice tires or if I am using the car with a second seat to give rides at a BMW DE. Also, if I have a renter in the car doing some training I’ll run the older tires while they are driving.
