Two FPR's?

#1

Okay, Im going to replace my fuel pump(s) and filter. When I was under the car I noticed another item that looks just like a fuel pressure regulator in line just after the fuel filter, towards the front of the car. Its pretty corroded on the outside and I want to change it. Is this a regulator and is it the same as the one at the fuel rail? I cant find it in the Bently and searching for parts online under FPR’s says "one per car"? Any thoughts?

personally, I would lose it…I took it off the 87 iS I had because it made a bunch of noise…no issues with that

Remember my sig guys…

I’m just trying to avoid an issue between drivers. It’s amazing what a losing driver might come up with at tech, especially at a National Championship event.

Yes, "performance enhancing" is the big issue.

9.3.1.3. Fuel System
9.3.1.3.1. Fuel filters may be substituted.
9.3.1.3.2. Any fuel pump may be fitted.
9.3.1.3.3. A fuel pump may not be located in the driver/passenger compartment.
9.3.1.3.4. An adjustable fuel pressure regulator may be installed.
9.3.1.3.5. Fuel lines may be replaced.
9.3.1.3.6. Fuel lines shall not exceed three-eights of one inch inside diameter.
9.3.1.3.7. Fuel lines that pass through the driver/passenger compartment shall be metal or metal braided and securely fastened.

I was thinking that the eliminating the noise maker was part of the fuel line replacement

So if you replace your whole fuel system with that of a year that didn’t come with a damper, is that allowed?

Also, is running dual pumps (one on each side of the tank) to solve fuel starvation problems prohibited as well?
