Transmission lift

#1

When I put my transmission in Saturday I used a HF tranny lift and it made the job a helova lot easier. I used this same lift to R/R the diff a couple weeks ago. It’s worth adding to your garage. Note that you’ll need a half inch drive socket wrench to work it.

looks good for occasional use.

My brother -in-law gave me the exact one. I used it for the tranny and rear-end. It works fine. You just have to get the car up high enough to clear the trans when it comes down and still have room to maneuver the trans out from under the car though!

I have the same thing and have used it for a couple of clutches (removing tranny) and looks like it will work well for a diff change if needed.

I agree that you have to get the car pretty high to get the transmission out, but for the money that jack can’t be beat.

  • I use a 1/2" air impact wrench to raise/lower and it makes it quick and easy.

Yes, well, I certainly would hate to have to replace major drive train components, uh, “often”.

I have this exact trans lift. Did an E36 trans and GMC 1/2 ton trans with it. Worked awesome. Can’t be beat for the price.
