ThunderHill Weekend

Wow, what a great weekend everyone, just another great example of what Norcal spec e30 has evolved into. Casa Ramos group dinner, BBQ, great racing, racers & crew working together to help those that needed repairs be able to get back on track…My thanks to everyone…can’t wait to make the 7hr. tow again next month…

My special thanks again to Pointsix racing for building a great car & engine, R & M Row, Tom, Bennet, Derrick and everyone else who helped out with my electrical issues on Sat. I appreciate all your help.

Very fun weekend! Enjoyed hanging out and getting to know some of you guys. Steve, try and bring maggie’s sister next event, and I’ll bring thinner front spacers! The tech guys and Will were very cool about it and gave us every opportunity to try and get it to pass, but every way we tried it was just a scosh to wide. Thanks to Rick and Dereck for listening to me complain about oil pressure all day saturday, and huge thanks to Walter and John of valley motorwerks for opening the shop saturday for us to pick up the crank scraper, crap now I owe them $$$!

We are really looking forward to next event. Hope to see evryone there.

Here’s the BTM Blog!

We’ll have video (Video Kevin, Video!) posted probably by Friday night. I expect with all the official GoPro-proliferation we had going on, there will be a lot more fast racin action posted as well.

Yeah, when can we see the NASA supplied GoPro action? Will that be posted somewhere?

Tommy O here…1st of all, I had heard about what an incredible group of folks this region had…and the rumors were spot on. My weekend was awesome start to finish and am very proud to walk/drive amongst you all.

We brought a brand new car out and boy did TFB (Tim Frickin’ Barber) put the right set up under me! One simple bar adjustment was all I needed to get the car dialed and it was a dream to drive! If anyone needs to have their car handling better, please hook up w/Tim…he’s the man!

I’m not sure about the GoPro footage from the 1st race (facing rearward) but I was informed the 2nd race the carmera didn’t record for some reason…I would have loved to have seen it:(

Thanks to all who were involved in the great barbecue and to all of you that I got a chance to meet. I’ll miss the next race @ T-Hill (vacation) but you’ll get a chance to meet my team mate Mike Courtney…I told him about what an awesome group you all are so please make him feel welcome.

I plan on bringing possibly a keg or 2 of Marin Brewing Co.beer to the June Infineon weekend so polish up those mugs and come thirsty!

All the best,

TO

Hey Tommy,
Glad to hear you are enjoying to spec e30 group…The season is only beginning to hit its stride.

As for “F” for Fricken…Actually the “F” is for FLOYDDDDDDDD

Sorry you won’t be at the next round, however that is no reason to not send your team mate along with a keg or 2 of brew…I’m sure if shows up at the track with a keg in hand, he will be every ones best friend.

Saturday race video:

http://vimeo.com/22734556

I have to say as well, with a few incidents on Saturday, the willingness for other racers to step in and help was above and beyond. The 19’s oil cooler took a hit from an unbelievably well aimed rock during qualifying and I’m not sure I’d have made the races without North Bay Bavarian’s Rick coming up with one out of nowhere.

It probably took me 5 times as long to install it after the BBQ :side: but it was a huge help. Scott’s car looked like a ‘how many racers does it take to change a strut’ math question after the Saturday race.

Good Racin’ all! :cheer:

Hey guys it was an epic weekend with a good turnout! I really enjoyed watching the enduro from the tower and being Steve and Glen’s pit crew. We now all understand that the race begins on Friday night - Donny’s water shots and all!!!

Nice job this weekend guys.

Thanks for posting Video Andy, you know how to make a guy happy, except for not giving Jeff the gentlemanly point-by:P

Looks like from the video, someone’s attempt to pass you, was not clean, and resulted in damage to Scoots car, too bad to see that happen. Nice job by all the competitors to step up and help out in such a big way. I know from Scoot he was ready to head home, but everyones encouragement, and helpfulness kept him there and got him on track! Way to go guys!!!:cheer:

Sorry I missed out on all the fun. Enjoyed reading Andy’s blog as well.

Looks like TO is raising the bar and we all have to step up. I look forward to being back in the fold.

Spec E30… It’s about the people!

Shoe out

Now you know! for some reason I can’t post pictures so look up at the “Technical Site Issues” topic, under “posting pictures” page 2…
