Ok I’m officially disappointed in the Bentley manual now. It seems to have very little to nothing in it about the connections going to the ECU. There is a 3 wire plug at the throttle body, Bentley only refers to it as “throttle switch”. Is this actually a throttle position sensor? If so, anybody know which wire is the signal wire?

Jeremy - found this on bimmerforums.
On the M20 the throttle position switch has the contacts numbered 1, 2 and 3
At closed throttle the 1 and 2 pins make contact. At wide open the 2 and 3 pins make contact.
Here’s the wiring diagram. Seems like 2 is the signal.
