Jim Pantas has published a spreadsheet of the current Southeast Poopy Board and told the series directors that we’re free to share this (“Feel free to share it with anyone”). It’s already generated a lot of email discussion about how the points are assigned and the whole issue of fairness.
My only comment (at this point)is: There is not going to be a perfectly fair system - especially in something as hard to observe and define as “who’s at fault” in auto racing. So bear in mind Jim is trying to create a system that deters dumba** moves while still keeping it fun. And that’s tough to do.
About the spreadsheet: Note that it has us at the top of points list (see the Summary tab), but adjusted for number of entries (thanks Steve Devinney!) we’re roughly in the middle. Not too bad but we could do better. Here’s the spreadsheet:
