The future of the Rock

saw this on nasaforums… not sure how it’ll effect NASA and how the 2008 schedule will play out. But it nice to know we aren’t lossing a track and getting another strip mall.

It is a shame to have more money than sense.

Last I heard Rockingham was pulled from the '08 schedule. I don’t think it’s been profitable for NASA-SE this year with the lack of attendance. To bad too, the management there was awesome. Show up Friday, they hand you the set of keys and say "see you Sunday!".

It’s a real shame to lose it from our schedule. The roval added a nice twist in the mix of tracks. It was a fun track despite what many people say, there was some good racing there.

Any word what the ‘08 schedule will look like?

I really enjoyed the rock, we were able to bring a bunch of spec e30’s there and had an IFU race there earlier this year. I would definately go in 08 and would be willing to lend 4 dead ass tires to any rook spec e30 racer willing to attend…The rock would be one track where we could reverse the course also…

The Rock was an awesome place to race. Even though 60+ laps is a lot for a race, the banking was something everyone should experience. Jim, Robert - what are the prospects for next year? Time to get the bids in.

QFT!! My sentiments exactly. Steve and Damion are the only ones I know of that didn’t like racing there. With the exception of the IFU RRR race, Rockingham was my favorite from this past year.

You’re just saying that because it is Beertech’s first, and probably only podium finish ever.

I agree it was a hoot, and the races were 2nd only to IFU, however the drive getting there and the hotel I stayed in Sucked!
