the difference between HC and Spec E30

Mike likes our rules, doesn’t like our cars. I think he just misses us in Group A

Let’s count cars…5 Honda Challenge cars on Saturday and only 2 in Sunday’s race. SpecE30…16 cars on Saturday and 14 on Sunday. Mike is right…we are seeing unbelievable growth!

I think you’re right Adam…Mike misses us in Group A…he doesn’t have as many cars to dive bomb anymore

Lame and slow = simple and inexpensive®

The best drivers come from slower cars and the series about the drivers and fun, not the cars. Learning momentum is key IMHO.

my $0.02

I hope all you guys realized that I was complimenting your series with sarcasm. We are dealing with a lot of stupid stuff in HC right now and I was trying to get our officials to take a look at your series and its success, even though the rules are very restrictive, making your cars much slower then they oughta be. IMO, your cars need 225’s and 150 lbs less weight.

I really like E30’s, in fact, I spent some time on the phone with walt from valley motorwerks just this afternoon talking about your series, its history and direction. There is a good chance by the end of the season I will have my own E30. Then all you guys that I “dive bombed” in my honda can try and exact your revenge…not my fault I have bigger brakes and weight 300 lbs less.

BTW, I can’t believe you searched another forum for poop talk and posted it elsewhere out of context, not a good way to promote cooperation between classes.

lol. In the future when we need tips on being nice to other classes we’ll know just whom to go to.

Mike and I talked at length about SpecE30 and racing in general. When I returned Mike’s call I said, “I heard you want to rent one of our lame, slow cars.” We both got a laugh out of it. Let’s face it 155hp and 2750lbs is far from awe inspiring. However I was visited by Alonzo, a LONG time racer who was racing back in 1967. We talked about the cars and he said speed is relative. You don’t have to go 180mph to enjoy racing as long as the competition is good.

I can assure anyone who has not competed in our series that the competition in SpecE30 is GREAT.

Mike is welcome to rent one of our cars whenever he wants. From what I remember Mike was one of the only Honda Challenge drivers that I did not have to worry about. Remember it was one of us who destroyed a HC car last season. I don’t remember ever being hit by one of them, so the score is

SE30 1
HC 0

Of course some series sh*t talking is always healthy in mild doses.

Mike…it’s all good. It would be great to have you race with us.

In Group A we got dive bombed by everyone…

But only because we’re so lame and slow…

Whoa, my point wasn’t to get anyone upset over this. I think everyone understands it for what it was: you were clearly making a point about the rules in HC, and SE30 was just a hilariously phrased example of how to do better.

I wasn’t specifically looking for smacktalk, it came to me in the nasaforums.com RSS feed

Adam you’re such a troll…

Having raced in SM, ITS, HC and now SE30 series, I would say SM and SE30 is fantastic for wheel2wheel while HC and ITS speed is addictive. Having said that, most of you would agree that you got your license because you like close racing, or else you would be in TT! Speed is relative when it comes to W2W.

Mike, I agree that HC has gone wrong in many ways since we joined HC 3 years back (it was awesome back then). I think you guys (SE30) should be proud of yourselves and be thankful to have such awesome support from NASA, VM, Speedtrap and other sponsors who go out of their way to grow this series. I urged the HC board to actively go after sponsors, but all I got was lip service. SE30 is going to grow, so keep up the good work.

[edit] Never mind… Had a couple photos to post, but I am about this close to throwing my wife’s Mac out the window. Will re=post later.

I just made an offer on an e30 for Mike to build. There may be Lock brothers in se30 sooner than you think

It wasn’t so long ago when I pushed a SE30 into Tech Inspection after winning a race when Mike called me something synonymous to a cat for trading in our HC cars. Glad to see you driving forward again and get that car built already!!!

The biggest difference would be that now that I have a 325 street car, I’m like 75% ready to race SE30…
