Thanks for 2010 race season

I want to send out a big thank you to all the NorCal racers. You guys made my year of racing an exceptional experience in my life. This racing thing is really a priviledge that few people get to do and although it took me 46 years to be in a position to do it, i am grateful for the opportunity and thankful that I found such a great group of people to race with!

Thanks go out to Jerry and his entire team at NASA. Volunteers, Safety workers, Timing and scoring, Grid workers, standing out in the sun and wind and rain. Again I feel very grateful to have found this group of quality racers and gear heads to hang out with on a weekend every month. Those who created Spec E30 deserve credit for their vision and leadership also. Our leader in NorCal Scoot Neville is a generous champion of the series with his time and effort, much of which is unseen by us as racers, Thank you Scoot!

The race community at large is tightly knit and loyal in other ways, like helping me find the car and secure its return when stolen by Meth heads. Will and Donny and Jeff Baxman who got me ready for Nationals after a Trust Fund baby creamed me in his rented RX-7.

Just as the Very best Cadillac Margarita is made with all the best Top Shelf Alcohol and fresh sqeezed Limes, (no toxic waste mixers here), this group of racers in NorCal are all the best and when you put them all together, each and everyone equally important, they make up an awesome race drink weekend each and every time I race. Thanks to All!!!

Next year I will be missing from many weekends as I must make some time budgeting adjustments, and my car which is being rebuilt by Speed Trapp Racing, won’t be ready until after Feb. 2011. But I will be looking forward eagerly to the weekends I can make it, and yes I will be looking for the win, which has alluded me up to this point (you guys are just too darn good).

Thanks to Speed Trapp, Tony and Sean, and Steve Ferrario, for without your encouragement and guidance, this year would have never occured.

Work smart, Race fast, play hard, See you in 2011 Boys!

It’s a pleasure racing with you and the other NorCal SpecE30 racers and NASA. It’s also great news to here that you won’t be at some of the races. I won’t have to worry about you in my mirrors or you blocking the clean pass and your appearance weekends for a fun run will be cluttered with rust. Kidding aside, you mostly and other as well have given me the motivational encouragement to push hard and keep moving to the front, that piece from you will be missed on race weekends.

Good luck with the rebuild and enjoy your time with your family, see ya on the Grid!

Nicely said Kevin and thanks for the kudos! Best wishes getting your car back in shape and hopefully we’ll see you sooner than later at the track!

Bennett…I only want to see you in my rear view mirror…but I know this season that’s going to be a bit harder to do! Looking forward to racing in 2011!

Cheers,
Scott (Scoot)
