I don’t know if anyone follows the road rally circuit, but as BMW followers, you should all know that Bill Arnold (3 time over all winner and 4 time class winner) was leading the Targa Newfoundland road rally on day four and broke a front strut tower in his 1972 modified Bavaria on the last stage and dropped out of the lead. We are waiting for the official results as to where he finished in class and overall. The overall leader/winner (un officially) is another BMW driver Roy Hopkins in his highly modified BMW 1969 2002. Thanks for the heads up Scott… I was not aware that Bill is running this year. At Infineon 2 years ago Carl C and I were at a BMW driving event and eating lunch with Bill. On teh TV comes highlights from teh Targa… guess who is winging around on tv??? Hahahaha Bill was the celebrity for the day!

Bill finished 16th overall due to a broken strut on the final leg while leading and heading for a 4th overall win, bummer. He finished 1st in class though. The overall winners were Roy Hopkins and Adrienne Hughes from New York as repeat winners from last year in their BMW 2002. Congratulations to all of the participants.
