Got my used LSD and ready to consider install. Is this a straightforward process or difficult trap for an unwary newbie? Any tips? I assume replace bushing and maybe new mounts?? And what are the thoughts about putting the bigger cover on? What else should I do at the same time it’s out, if any?
thanx,

It’s not a difficult job. I have done it several times and the first time probably took 2-3 hours and the last time took about 45 minutes. Here is a pretty good write-up on it. Even though its for an e36 the procedure is basically the same.
Also, if you don’t have a Bentley service manual now would be a good time to get one. Good luck.
I replaced the fuild while it was on the work bench. I checked the fluid level after it was installed and back on the ground.
