Suspension Techniques sways

#1

Anyone using these for competition?

I’ve read up on these and cannot find any reason not to get them.

Pricewise most sets go for around $400 for F/R set with hardware. The IEs are $440 +shipping.

I found the ST sways with hardware about $100 cheaper. But, interestingly Jegs/Summit is a ST vendor and they offer the E30 kit for $275 for F/R with hardware, including shipping.

Thoughts?

make sure that you are not comparing the price of the convertible version - I only remember that those have been mixed up in the past.

I have ST anti-roll bars ready to go on my car - real soon now!

We have ST bars on both of our cars. They are a straightforward design, and except for the rear installation (the urethane bushing are a bi#@! to install) they are a nice product. Our last set we got from turner motorsports with their reinforcement kit.

but I think one difference may be that the Ireland’s come with the reinforcement kit (a pretty solid design imo).

It seems that there has been some discussion here before that the ST bars are stiffer than IE. I don’t know if its true but I’d like to know. Maybe I will put the ST bar up front on my car and see how it feels compared to my IE front bar.

The 'Vert bars are different? I saw one desription state ‘convertible’ but the other did not. I could not find part# on the ST website, but the part # at Turner matched the Jegs part #, Turner’s said E30 84-91

verts have a 1 mm larger diameter front bar stock than the hard top cars do, the rear is the same. Can’t see why there would be a difference in an afterrmarket bar.
