For alot of the north east events, I believe that GTS is in the same run group as SPECe30(i might be wrong). Hopefully Nor Cal is better for you.
You gotta love the GTS rule set, it is only 3.5 pages
The e-mail message below from Jerry provides details about the Supersize option for NorCal SpecE30 racers. I’ll send this out on the NorCal SpecE30 mail list too. The key thing to note is the requirement to join the new Yahoo groups list in order to get the $50 Supersize entry fee.
[i]This is going to all GTS drivers, SE30 drivers, and 944 Spec drivers.
We have appointed Austin Ford Jr (big Austin) and Austin Ford III (“little” Austin) as GTS series coordinators for Nor Cal. They will work hard to get you the accurate information, keep up the website, bring in new drivers, and be a drivers’ liaison to me.
Because I don’t want to keep sending all of you email, for which only some of you want, I have created this distribution list norcalgts@yahoogroups.com. This list will be VERY low volume. Only Austin(s)and I will be able to post information on this.
No one wants to join any more lists, I get it. But this one will be required in order to keep receiving the $50 entry fee. [If you don’t want to be on the list and pay full price, GTS is listed under the regular Racing group drop down.] However, I am very confident that you will find only useful information going to the list, and that should be limited to a few times a month at the most. Remember that the this is NOT a discussion list; distribution only.
It’s very simple to join. Just send a blank email to norcalgts-subscribe@yahoogroups.com and you be added to the list. You can unsubscribe at any time of course.
I look forward to building a large GTS presence on the west coast. This group isn’t 13/13 but we will run a tight ship. I think people are like me…they don’t want their cars banged up!
Have a great weekend,
Jerry Kunzman

You want to use at the wheels horsepower you should run in GTS1. If you have around 150 you don’t even have to change the weight, any higher than that and you have to start adding weight.

At 2750,150,150 it’s GTS2 and with 2800,150,150 it’s GTS1. So cars at 2775 or higher,150,150 are in GT1 and cars lower that 2775 are in GTS2. Correct me if I’m wrong.
At 2750-2820,150,155, it’s GTS2. So the million dollar question, what is our HP and Tq? [edit] I answered my own question by reading the rules.
As a group, NorCal SpecE30, where do we want to run? I think it would be more fun if we all ran together then split up. Are there any advantages in being in one group or another? I guess if only a couple of us run in GTS then it does’nt make much differance.
So first, who thinks the want to run in GTS for $50?
I’m in if I get my car fixed in time!
When I talked to the spec 944 guys at the last race, they wanted spec e30 to come play in GTS1 with them. They were tired of being picked on by 911’s, and wanted to be picked on by 325i’s instead
I’ll be down for any supersize for $50 any time I race, but my next race won’t be til August.
I’m in. What class? Who runs in GTS 2 or 1. I like Porsche’s alot, but it would be fun to spank some 944’s.

Like I said before you should try to run GTS1. You will get absolutely smoked in GTS2. You will likely get beaten in GTS1 also but it just depends who shows up and how prepared their car is.
Reviving this thread, since I’m coming back to kick some GTS ass.
Norcal supersizers: GTS1 or 2?
I heard through the facebook grapevine that the answer is that spec e30’s in Norcal are all running in GTS1. GTS points are local only.
I’ll be in GTS1 in 2 weeks, picking on the 944’s.
We ran in GTS2. Our cars are borderline depending on what your car dynos at. You could add weight to be in GTS1 is you are putting out 160 hp. I am signed up in GTS2 just because everyone else is there.
At Nationals we would probably get beat either way 1 or 2. We would need to do work on weight, tires, airo, etc, etc,
I just like the opportunity to run another race with E30 guys.

Yep, I signed up for GTS2 since everyone else appears to be there. I don’t really care one way or another, as long as we get the handful of spec e30 supersizers to pick one.
