Sunroof out

#1

In prep for my cage install in two weeks I managed to get the headliner, sunroof and all the other misc little stuff out of the interior this weekend. What a fun and dirty job, took about 6 cut off wheels on my angle grinder. I’m stoked my spec e30 car is starting to really come together - should be about 90% done by the end of the year, then it’s just seat time, seat time, seat time.

I am surprised how heavy that sunroof panel is, even stripped. Seems a basic sheet of metal riveted would be a lot lighter.

AJ,
Do you want to come and do mine next?

I am going to start on my SPEC car this week. We have all the suspension bits and I am going to send the IP car to get the cage done so it is SPECE30 time!

that is what I did. Lots of silicone and then riveted a piece of steel from Lowe’s cut with a jigsaw. There is a picture in another thread.
cheers,

Yep, I found it - looks pretty good. And it for damn sure is lighter than this panel and quicker to attach. Gotta make a call this week as it’s going to TC Design a week from today! Will photo either way.

Walter, I realized that you have more race cars than I have…cars. Good thing you have a shop!!
