In my final prep for this w/e and I am reviewing the CCR against my prep work. I have NOT modified my sunroof, I still have the motor and all attached. The rules state that sunroof "clips" are mandatory. What are they? Tabs that are screwed into both the roof and sunroof from the outside? I don’t remember seeing these on every car before. Can someone shed some light on this for me?

fwiw, I had my e30 M3 teched last weekend and the inspector asked about sunroof clips but when I told him that it was still a working/attached sunroof he thought it was ok - they just want to make sure that it isn’t going to come off in mid race.

i had the same question on another post.
I called and talked to Rob at Bimmerworld and he said he was going to cut a piece of .060 al 2" bigger than the sunroof and rivet it to the roof.
This is what i will do as well.
I have race tech on tuesday next week.
The way i read the rules of NASA is that SUN ROOF CLIPS ARE REQUIRED.
15.13 Windshield / Sunroof Clips
Windshield clips are recommended to hold the windshield from ejecting in case of a
crash. Sunroof clips are required. Glass sunroofs (moon roofs) must be removed or
completely covered with tape on both sides. The tape used to protect headlights from
rocks is recommended.

well after talking to Rob at Bimmerworld i decided to rivet a piece of .060 AL over the sunroof. It came out pretty good with my home tools in mind. Alot more areo than the other ideas i had.
The CCR’s are really clear that they are REQUIRED.Doesn’t state whether the sunroof works or not.
Remember if it doesn’t say then don’t play…

i passed race tech today and the .060 al on the sunroof was a big hit.
The guy that gave me a log book has several Honda Challenge winning cars in Northern California.
He said without the securing of the sunroof working or not it wouldn’t have passed.
Just whats happen out west…
