sub frame and trailing arm install

#1

whats the best way to put it all back. Sub frame first or mount trailing arms, and install all at once?

#2

Unless you have help, installing the subframe first, then each trailing arm is easier.

I attached trailing arms to the subframe and then raised it all up. It’s MUCH easier to put in and torque trailing arm bolts. It might be a bit awkward raising and positioning it all like that but it’s not too bad (4 jackstands and jack did the job for me).

When I replaced my subframe and trailing arm bushings I installed the subframe first then the trailing arms. Like Igor said, it would have been much easier to have bolted up the trailing arms first since the long bolts were hard to get in with limited space and the nuts closest to the subframe bushing was a PITA. Then theres the problem of torquing when you can’t get to the nuts.
If you have an extra set of hands would make things go a lot easier.

I going to make a support with some plywood and a few other boards and use floor jack, jack stands to support it. It’s going to be a PIA to torque those bolts. Wish me luck. Thanks for the input.

PS I couldn’t find the torque specs for the trail arms in the BB. The nuts are self locking, I assume tighten the nuts to they are snuq?
