Stripped O-hole. Ouch! Oxygen sensor hole, that is. The old O2 sensor was incredibly jammed & stripped. Very hard to remove. Had to take the pipe off & jump on the wrench continuously. Threads are flattened on the old sensor. What is the solution? Screw the new sensor in with force? Drill out & tap? Helicoil? Take to a machine shop?
I’m a newbie so help is appreciated.
thanx,

stripped my O-hole
I’d start by seeing how much cleanup could be done on the threads. It’s pretty large and there’s a good amount of thread so you should be able to get a heli-coil kit.
Worst case, take to an exhaust shop. I am sure they could cut the old socket off and re-weld another one. If you have to spend a bunch on repair, I’d look to a junkyard for a new pipe first. Probably cheaper if the re-threading or heli-coil routes don’t work.
probably easiest thing, and best if threads are stripped, is to weld in new bong (spl?).
