So the season is over for us in the Great Lakes region. Although it must be nice to race year round in Cali or the southeast, for me it is a chance to save some money and get the car ready for next year. For those that don’t know me I’m the Series Director for our region so I just wanted to give an update on what to look forward to next year. Currently we have 5 active racers in our region. Exluding Nationals, 5 was also the highest number of entries we had at a single event (Mid Ohio). Next year we have the potential to have up to 5 more racers join. There are a number of guys almost ready to do comp school and a few with finished cars that will be joining us soon. I think this is good progress from when I started 2 years ago, I think Osborne was the only one racing then. It is up to all us of to continue to promote the series and get new drivers to join us. The series is a pretty easy sell as its cheap and most of all fun. The more racers we get the more fun it is for everyone. Also don’t forget I have an extra car if anyone needs it. I’m going to finish it this winter and give it a shakedown race next year. So we should have a race ready car for someone by next year that will hopefully be under 10k finished. The racing has been awesome, even when there was only 2 of us at Putnam I had one of the most fun races I’ve had in a while. My highlight of the year has to be racing Lucas side by side for practically the entire last lap at Mid Ohio and of course Nationals. I look forward to racing with all of you next year, it will be a long winter
State of the region - Update
Can’t wait till next year Simon!
It’s been a great first year for us in SpecE30 and trust me I’ve been telling anyone who will listen.
Good luck guys. I remember when there was only a field of 1 in the Southeast. With the competitors from your area putting on a good show at the Nationals, I’ve no doubt that the series will take off 'cause there is already established, top notch, competition. Welcome the new racers in, show 'em a good show and you’ll be off to the races (literally).
Come see us sometime in the Southeast.
Regards, Robert Patton

I certainly had a blast racing with the Great Lakes crew this year. Looking forward to next season.
