I’m debating between ST sway bars and IE sway bars. The IE’s have a curved end which claims to help end link geometry.
I know they are both good companies. Any thoughts between the 2 brands, or is it a matter of splitting hairs?
Thanks
John
ST vs. IE sway bars
After lots of off-season research, a 22mm front bar is a22mm front bar. Roll stiffness is not big enough to be affected by end link location.
I think the ST is hollow? Perhaps less stiff? Regardless, 22mm is 22mm and the ST rear bar is nowhere near as nice (2 holes/settings only) as the infinately adjustable Ireland kit.
Purchase the Ireland kit and enjoy the nice, easy to install rear bar with reinforcement brackets.

I can’t really comment on the difference between the two but the rear ST was NOT an enjoyable installation. If I did it again, I would probably go with a different brand based solely on that.
That being said, I seem to remember finding the ST for less money than any of the others which may have been what swayed me.(no pun intended :woohoo: )
I remember when I was ordering parts and doing research a lot of people were griping about the difficulty of installing the ST rear bars. I elected to go with IE bars as I wanted the upgraded mounts anyway. The IE bars fit very well and the blue matches my car. I’m very pleased with them. I recommend you buy them from a supplier such as Flying Brick, however, as IE’s customer service is legendary for being lackluster. Indeed, I received some incorrect end links for my one bar and it took them forever to correct, though they did send replacements at no cost.
I just installed the IE bars on my car. The install was very easy. I had to scratch my head a while before I figured out how to locate the blind hole for the bolt that taps directly into the support bracket on the rear, but once I made a paper template matching the layout of the bracket, it was easy.
My experience at IE was pretty good. They didn’t have my SS brake lines when I put in my order, so they shipped everthing else, then shipped the lines expedited for no charge, and did a good job of communicating with me about the status. Not to say that you wouldn’t get better customer service elsewhere, but IE was not bad to deal with. Some instructions would have been nice for installing some of the stuff I ordered, and I understand Factory 3 provides them (at least for some stuff).
Thanks for the responses.
I’m leaning towards the IE bars at this point. They cost more which means they must make the car go faster right?
Actually its your responses about the hardware.
I hope to have my cage done in 2 or 3 weeks (which when calculated in true do-it yourself project time means 10-12 weeks) and then the car goes in the air for all the suspension goodies.
One day it will be done.
