Did that sway bar metal bracket come with the ST bar set? I have ST’s on my car (but they were there when I bought it) and mine use the OEM bracket, which only affixes using the tabbed slot (forward end of the bracket) and a bolt on the rearward hole.

Mine also has a very thick (> 1/8 inch) spacer/washer to level out the bracket, as you have noticed.

Other brackets I’ve seen, like the IE hardware, have the rearward side shimmed a like amount with an extra piece of metal.

Anyway, if you want to use that bracket, I think all you have to do is get some appropriate washers and shim the rearward end until it fits level with the front. What you may not have seen yet is that when you remove the subframe bolt to attach the forward end, there is a ‘shoulder’ on the subframe, under the bolt, that will push the bracket a bit lower so that when level, it will clear that low-hanging tab on the rearwards end.

I finaly got mine and have not installed them yet. Took a picture of the diagram for you. Who reads the rest of the babble anyway right? Just looky at the picture right?

Looks like you will need to get some harware, the "retaining washer" is about an 1/8" thick, so if you don’t have that one, just stack up some fender washer and you shoule be fine.

Looks like I will need to smash in that tab so it is flat.

The retaining washer builds that up. I would not smash anything down. This is what the stock hardware looks like. The front with bolt goes through the empty hole on your pic. The rear part oses the OEM bolt which looks to be attached in your pic. Remove the bolt from the frame. Line up the brackets and bushing/bar, put the thick retainer washer in there and tighten it all together.

Notice the cool new green color. I bet the green will be faster than the blue. B)

There is no smashing to do. That picture is worth 1000 words. Take the subframe bolt out, and install just like Rich posted (but with the short bolt on the other side, obviously). The thick washer/spacer makes it possible to install without any smashing. It is very substantial after mounting. I installed a longer bolt instead of reusing the subframe bolt - after fighting with it for about an hour. I think I got one that was 5mm longer than the stock bolt. The stock one only catches for a couple threads, and I did not want to worry about it on the track - it could be a safety issue.
