Congrats to Tony Zwain and Edge Motorworks for building an awesome car, which I was priviledged to drive in the 25 hrs of Thunderhill. Sarah’s car ran fantastic except for a small charging issue. Not only did the car survive the 25, but it beat hugely funded exotic cars and monster teams.
The team was third in class and 4th overall. Beating all ESR and all but 1 ES car. They were a fabulous team to drive for and work with. BTW here is the quality of team we lost to: http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/article/25hr-two-in-a-row-for-mercer-motorsports/ I guess we will be OK losing to them, they are pretty good and did spend about $250k more than us… They were great to race with, they never hit me once, or anyone else
Thanks to Sarah, Tony, Navid, Rich, JT and Donny, you were all great to drive for and with. Also thanks to the fantastic and efficient crew, Sam, Gordon, Brenda, Chris, Mr. Roberts and Rich’s Beautiful wife.
Rain, mud, Fog, cold, long hours, smoke, fire, crashes, penalties, helicopters, baseball stars, movie stars, racing stars, competition, speed, traffic, spins, g-forces, Wow, it was all there at the 25. My first time, but not my last. I thought Nationals was intense, but frankly that was baby food compared to teh 25 hr.
