After killing yet another engine this weekend, I’ve decided to cut my losses and sell my spec e30 project. I’ve still been doing HPDE’s; but the car is ALMOST ready for spec e30 competition.
As it sits now, it does run and drive, but has low oil pressure and metal in the oil. It is tagged and street legal, with the stock exhaust still in place. If your local, It can be driven home, but I would not try a long haul in it.
It’s a 1990 4 door Bronzit car. Very clean rust free car. All 4 track wheels/tires can fit in the back seat THROUGH the roll bar. It will come with my old engine that suffers from similar symptoms (low oil pressure and metal in oil) Both engines have recent water pumps, and timing belts. Also will come with spare starter, alternator, wiring harness(es), intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, two sets of fuel injectors, plus a lot more stock stuff.
Things already done:
-3.73 LSD
-H&R’s and Bilstiens in place, with two weekend on them
-4 point weld in roll bar (was planning to build the front of the cage after all my HPDE’s)
-Spherical bearing camber plates (3.0 degrees of camber currently, alignment by GTE)
-Spherical bearing billet rear shock mounts
-Hawk HT-10’s up front and HPS in the rear, each with one HPDE weekend
-2 new (2008 dates) Sparco Sprint 5 FIA approved seats on adjustable brackets
-2 new (2008 dates) safe-quip 3" 5 point harnesses, SFI 16.1 approved
-4 Bottle caps with street tires (10% tread left)
-4 15" Basket weaves with RA-1’s and 20mm spacers
-2 spare RA-1’s with ~70% tread left
-3" Brake cooling ducts (must see, they are carbon pieces from a nascar team)
-Sunroof cassette/motor removed, sunroof skin is sealed in place
-Interior and sound deadening has been removed, kept sound deadening in trunk for weight bias
-Auto meter ultra-lite oil pressure and water temp gauges
-Redline fluids in trans and diff
-ATE Blue brake fluid
-Vorshlag wheel studs
Things NEEDED for spec e30:
-A new engine (or rebuild)
-Front half of the roll cage (it has a 4 point weld in bar now that can be built off of.) I can install the rest for an additional cost.
-Fire suppression system
-Sway bars (still OEM)
Other than that, She’s ready to go. As it sits now, it’s been low 1:50’s around Road Atlanta during a DE weekend with stock sway bars and stock exhaust. I know it has more in it with a more experienced driver and the last few upgrades.
I’m looking to get $7500 obo. It’s very close to a complete, competitive spec e30 car; but right now I just cannot justify another engine.
Feel free to email me for pics, the attached are the only ones I have on this computer. I can email/post more tomorrow.
