Spec E30 Dyno Day? April 24- CANCELLED

#1

Talking with Patton last weekend, there was some discussion about putting together a Spec E30 dyno day through Mike McCoy and Racers Market at a dyno up near Robert’s warehouse in Cumming. Saturday April 24th was selected as a target date. And according to Mike, cost would be on the order of $50 for three runs, $75 for three runs with AFM. Pricing was based off six cars but could move down if we have a large turnout.

Who’s interested???

#2

I’ll be there…with three cars to test.

So, does that make four in attendance?

#3

Put me down as a maybe.

Too far for me, but it would be great if everyone would be willing to share their results with air fuel plots afterwards. Is this a Dynojet? If you could ask for the dyno files afterwards and post them that would be great as well. You can download the Dynojet software and make your own graphs afterwards. I am hoping to get mine on the dyno next month once the spec exhaust is fitted.

#5

Add, a new street car.

That’s cool, and I understand. I just really enjoy analyzing dyno runs. Regardless of if you share, if it is a Dynojet bring a thumb drive and make sure everyone gets the actual dyno file so you can plot away when you get home, haha. Are you gonna stick the air fuel sensor in the tailpipe or the OEM O2 sensor location?

#9

Tailpipe.

May bring two more street cars just to see how good their junkyard engines are. They are automatics…wonder how well they’ll dyno?

RP put me downfor 6 cars.

Robert you’re a madman

#11

What the heck. Put me down as a newbie to all this. What is the start time? John Anthony do you want to dyno yours too?

#12

So far we have:
Robert: 6
Kelly: 1
Dexter: 1
Bill: 1?

Anyone else?

#13

Kelly, seriously, put me down for 5 cars.

Maybe Street e30 automatic #2, maybe street automatic #3 (yes, I’ve got a few beaters floating around)

RP

Others?

#14

I’m still in as a maybe.

#15

Hey… put me down for one also. I can check out the new motor (from 11/09) and have a shake-down run for my new tow mule.

#16

Dang. I think I have to bail on this. I’ll be in Rome (Georgia, unfortunately  ) with my kids for a chunk of time right in the middle of the day.

Unless you guys are starting at an ungodly early hour, I’m out.:frowning:

#17

Not a problem Steve. Everyone else, we should have details (location, time, etc…) from Racers Market tomorrow. Stay tuned.

#18

All right… details are in for Saturday.

9:00 start time… Mike McCoy will be running the dyno and taking payment (Cash, Check, Paypal, or Credit Card). Address and directions as follows:

1360 Oak Industrial Lane
Suite 100
Cumming, GA 30041

If coming from GA 20, take Ronald Regan / Old Alabama south and turn Right
at the shell station.

If coming from 141, take Ronald Regan / Old Alabama north and turn Left at
the shell station.

From there, it should be the second driveway on your right. 1360 suite 100
will be the building on the left.

See everyone there…

Regretfully I am out. We decided to work over the weekend. Just my luck.

Just got word from the shop that was going to run the dyno, and unfortunately they have to cancel. They found out this morning they (temporarily) no longer have access to the dyno. Once it’s resolved, they’ll contact us to look into rescheduling.

Mike and TRM was very apologetic.
