Spare ABS relay?

#1

Does anyone out there have a spare, good ABS relay? I have tried my original and 2 junkyard pulls but can’t convince myself any of them are good. My ABS light stays on and i tried swapping the silver brain box and that doesn’t help. The 3 relays haven’t helped either - but none of them are “known” to be good relays.

I’ll send you 3 relays back to be repaired or i can pay you for the good relay - your choice.

Thanks

Dan

Dan,

You could just pop the top of one of your relays and solder the fuse link back together. After removing the top cover, it’s obvious where to make the repairs if the relay is in fact blown.

Pop the relays open and check that the fusible link is intact. If that’s ok, the relay is probably fine.

The little bastard is tricky to resolder. I ended up buying a replacement after the resoldering attempt kicked my ass.

when i found my abs relay fuse popped i soldered a length of wire to each end, routed them outside the relay, clamped them together with an alligator clip, and jammed the clip inside a section of roll cage padding. i intended to wire them to a small fuse but laziness prevailed.

I did something similar but soldered a fuse holder and taped the wires and fuse to the outside of the case. Never had a problem. Would hate to fry ABS computer or something due to no high current protection.

Dan - I have a few. Sorry I should have let you borrow one when you stopped by. You can also borrow my front sensors and try those as well. Let me know.
