Some cage pics

Some pics of Simon’s cage. We did the taco shell style gussets in all the places we gusseted because I like that style for various reasons. My fabricator does not so much, particularly the compound bend ones. ; )

Another one…

excellent job, as expected.
Pics went straight into my do-it-like-this file.

What material are the door panels made out of?
cheers,

Looks good Simon & Jack. I was hoping to get to Mid-ohio once before nationals since I have never seen the track but the body damage from Road Atl is putting a hurtin on my budget. With you two guys, Osborne and vic in that region you should have some good battles this season.

Hey Bruce,

Thanks, we’re pretty happy with the results.

The door panels are aluminum but they are brushed so as to be nonglare…and it looke neato. ; ) I liked them so much I’m having them made so I can sell them. I don’t have timing or cost just yet but it should be not too long. I expect to keep the price down so they are reasonable.

Cheers.

Hi Damion,

Thanks, we are happy with the results as I said. I can’t wait to see the car finished, graphic’d up and ready to race. We’re doing the shakedown at Putnam in 2 weeks then Simon is racing at Mid Ohio the following week. Should be cool.

I wish I could say I was racing this year but I’m guessing 1-2 events tops and not sure what class/which series even yet. I’ll get out at least once to watch a SpecE30 race though. I’ll have to look at how the events are run, perhaps I can share Simon’s car some weekend.

Mid Ohio is a blast and I haven’t been back since it was paved so I’m sure it’s even better. I know it’s faster! For the "old" pavement you can check out all the various videos of Simon and I in our JS cars and also when I ran CM for a bit.

Well, give it a few more days til my new site goes up. ; )

Cheers.

With mine own eyes I’ve seen this car. And with these very fingers I do testify, "This is the coolest cage I’ve ever seen installed in a non M e30." Take a real close look at the first picture. See the tubes going through the bulkhead? I don’t know how he got those holes in the perfect places. Very impressive quality- fit and finish are superior.

Sorry, it just really is that neat.

Hey Jamie,

Thanks! It was very nice to meet you, look forward to seeing you at the track. I can’t wait to see how your paint turns out. Cheers.
