Shifter ring

#1

With our local water restrictions lifted, my three small children and I pulled the cover off the car to give it a bath. As I grabbed the shifter to pull the car out of the carport, the shifter had a weird feel to it. I pulled the shifter boot and the rubber boot under it and noticed that the white nylon ring that sits on top of the shifter ball had come loose.

I pushed it back down and tapped it back into position, turning it counter clock-wise until the arrows pointed directly forward and backward. I’m glad it happened in my driveway and not on the track.

Also, just driving the car up and down our short driveway got my race attitude going. I haven’t been on the track since Feb, because of family obligations and other scheduled events. I was planning to do Rockingham but that Saturday is my wife’s birthday and that Sunday is Father’s Day.

My plan is to do the Hyperfest weekend at Summit in early July, the VIR weekend in late July, the National Championship at Mid Ohio, and the remainder of the NASA Mid Atlantic schedule, as well as possibly doing a few other races in other regions.

Being out of the car for so long has been tough but I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone at the track in July, and beyond.
